NTY 2011 theme song launched

Minister for Tourism and Civil Aviation Sharat Singh Bhandari today launched the theme song for Nepal Tourism Year 2011. The theme song is four-and-a- half minutes long with lyrics by Durga Lal Shrestha, music score by Nhyoo Bajracharya and vocals by Ani Choying Dolma.

Speaking at the launch programme, Minister Bhandari hoped that the song would be appreciated by all and prove a worthy audio background to the promotion of NTY 2011 in paerticular and the tourism sector as a whole. “The theme song broadcast by FM radio channels and television will create awareness about tourism in the rural areas also,” said the minister.

The theme song’s video disc is also being made. NTY 2011 secretariat is leaving no stone unturned to make the tourism year a grand success. The formal launch of NTY 2011 itself is scheduled for February 26. To celebrate the day properly, Nepal Tourism Year secretariat has urged people to display their patriotism by hoisting the national flag at their homes and workplaces from February 19.
