According to the Implementing Experts Group (IEG), official organizer appointed by the government of Nepal for Nepal’s National participation at the Expo, it has invested around Rs 300 million to prepare the Nepal Pavilion to showcase at the expo.
Nepal’s Pavilion, spread in the area of 3,600 square meter, will feature an architecturally, aesthetically and culturally rich indigenous Nepali settlement with the replica of Bouddha Stupa in its central part. The Pavilion is being designed by giving focus on ingenuity of the country’s unique architectural knowledge and skills, informed IEG during a discussion program held in the capital on Monday.
The program was attended by the Chinese delegation of Bureau of Shanghai World Expo Coordination. The seven-member delegation, which is currently in the capital, is led by Huan Jianzhi, deputy director general, Bureau of shanghai World expo Coordination.
The delegation had also held discussion about the expo, which is expected to be participated by some 200 countries, with high-level Nepali officials.
According to the IEG, during the expo Nepal will also display both positive and negative implications of urbanization of the Kathmandu valley on its art and culture in an aesthetic manner.
The IEG has also expected that Nepal’s participation at the expo will prove instrumental in its endeavour to attract Foreign Direct Investment (FDI) in various economic avenues like tourism, ICTs (information and communication technologies) and hydropower, among others.
The upcoming Expo 2010 Shanghai, which is claimed to be the world’s biggest expo, is estimated to be visited by 70 million from different countries of the world.
